Occupational Therapist

  • Focuses on your clinical needs, function & independence.

  • Qualifications include:

    • BSc Occupational Therapy 

    • BSc Applied Sports Science  

    • Post Graduate Certificate in ‘24 hour Posture Management For Individuals With Complex Disability’ 

    • Post Graduate Certificate in ‘Professional Mentoring’

  • Affiliations include:

    • Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC)

    • Royal College of Occupational Therapists (RCOT)

    • RCOT Independent Practice (RCOTSS-IP)

    • Posture & Mobility Group (PMG)

    • International Society of Wheelchair Professionals (IWSP)

  • Matt has worked in both acute and rehabilitation medicine before specialising in Wheelchair and Seating as a Senior Wheelchair Therapist in Cardiff & Vale NHS Trust.

     

    He later progressed to Clinical Specialist OT at the Special Seating Service in Morriston Hospital in Swansea which provided seating and mobility equipment for both children and adults with complex disabilities.

    Matt has worked for Sunrise Medical for the last 10 years as Clinical Specialist OT and JAY Product Manager and most recently the European Power Product, Market & Training Manager. 

     

    He is an experienced Clinical Educator, having taught through structured courses, online learning management systems and at numerous National and International conferences.

  • Focuses on your technical setup, customisation & performance.

  • Qualifications include:

    • BSc Mechanical Engineering  

    • National Diploma Clinical Engineering 

    • ‘24-hour Posture Management For Individuals With Complex Disability’ 

    • ILM Level 5 Leadership and Management 

    • Designated Safeguarding Officer Level 3 

  • Affiliations include:

    • Clinical Technologist Register (IPEM)

    • Posture & Mobility Group member (PMG)

    • International Society of Wheelchair Professionals (IWSP)

  • Dean originally worked in Wheelchairs and Seating as a Rehabilitation Engineer at Morriston Hospital in Swansea, specialising in specialist seating, wheelchair manufacture and production.

     

    He later progressed to Senior Rehabilitation Engineer, working closely with Matt at the Special in Swansea, assessing for and prescribing seating and mobility equipment for both children and adults with complex disabilities.


    Dean has worked for Whizz-Kidz for the last 8 years as Head of Clinical Engineering and, more recently, also Head of NHS Services.  

     

    He is an experienced Wheelchair and Seating Engineer with extensive experience in service delivery, safeguarding, senior management, and operations.
